The war of words between Guy Ritchie and Madonna is escalating. Yesterday Rithcie hired Andrew Lloyd-Webber's amazonian divorce lawyer Helen Ward to represent his interests, though he's already said he doesn't want a penny of her $500m fortune. Those with long memories may remember Ritchie vowed to pay her alimony if they ever split up, with the absence of a pre-nup (not enforceable under UK law) being noted when they first got hitched.
Meanwhile The Mirror reports that Ritchie became fed up with her food and fitness obsessions, which he is concerned she will pass on to their son. He's referred to their marriage as 'a circus' and bemoaned her interest in Kabbalah, which he claims ruined her sense of humor.
Obviously aware of the leaked comments, Madonna introduced one of her songs last night in Boston ('Miles Away' - famously about their strained marriage) with the dedication "This song is for the emotionally retarded. Maybe you know some people who fall into that category. I know I do"
